House of Representatives Passes Corporate Transparency Act

The United States House of Representatives passed the Corporate Transparency Act of 2019 (H.R. 2513) on October 22, 2019 by a 249 to 173 vote. This bill will crack down on anonymous shell companies, help law enforcement fight money laundering, and prevent the misuse of the U.S. financial system by criminals. Beneficial ownership transparency is key to reducing the ability of kleptocrats to hide and enjoy their stolen assets. We urge the Senate to swiftly pass companion legislation. Thank you Representative Carolyn Maloney for your leadership.
