Laura B. Sherman

Ms. Sherman works with Coalition for Integrity (C4I) on a volunteer basis as a Policy Advisor. She was the Anti-Corruption Advisor at the Mission to Serbia of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe until August 2017. In that position, she assisted the Government of Serbia and the Serbian private sector and civil society in combating corruption through preventive and repressive means. Projects included:  training prosecutors, police and judges to investigate, prosecute and adjudicate financial crimes, including corruption; promoting local civil society and municipal efforts to implement the whistleblower law; organizing seminars on best practices in public procurement; providing assistance to the Serbian Financial Investigative Unit to combat money laundering and counter terrorism financing; advising on laws to bring them to international standards; supporting law faculties in teaching students about anti-corruption efforts; and working with the private sector to introduce corporate anti-corruption programs.

Between 2002-2015, she represented clients before the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and Federal Communications Commission and carried out international short-term assignments for USAID and the World Bank. Prior to that Ms. Sherman worked in various positions in the State Department, Office of the U. S. Trade Representative and Federal Communications Commission. She also worked in the DC and NY offices of Paul Weiss for a number of years. She has a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, magna cum laude, and a B.A., cum laude, from Cornell University.  She is a member of the bars of New York and the District of Columbia.
